By popular demand (well, one person asked), the Manic Monday Mile efforts will be coming back.

But not tomorrow (4th Feb). Between a vets race and the club's 31/29 session, is not a good idea to start, so I plan on starting next Monday 11th.

Incidentally, anybody know a flat mile (other than Waterloo Rd/Galloway Lane), closer to Pudsey than Drig?

1 mile flat, no gradients. ringways garage to wickes. needs measuring to be exact. then 1 mile up-hill to finish.

Thanks for your reply Arthur, I had considered that stretch. It's 1.9 miles from Ringways to Wickes but unfortunately there isn't the possibility to run a mile effort without having to negotiate a potentially busy junction at some point.

So for now, I'll stick to Drighlington, Moorland Road, off Station Road for anybody interested.

7 p.m. start warm-up, 2 x 1 mile time-yer-own efforts with 10 min of jog recovery between, then 15 min warm down.

Note: If there's icy conditions locally, you can rest assured the exposed area at Drig will be affected so I wouldn't turn up. Just roll up next week.

What about running round the lake just at the bottom of Hennconner lane that seems flat enough

Thanks Graham, that's about three quarters of a mile if you avoided the part behind the pub which is spoilt by tree roots and rounded the pub on the outside. Could be too dark for some, though could be an excellent session in its own right on lighter nights. Cheers.
