The theme for this month’s club run will be an illuminated treasure trail designed to inspire enjoyment of running in the dark. The 4 mile route will begin and end at Pudsey Leisure Centre and take in some quiet lanes, ginnels and snickets. There’ll even be a bit of park land and footpath thrown in so you’ll need some light to guide your way (either a head torch or the hand held variety will do); don’t worry, nothing too serious. If you have a spare torch please do bring it along so those without can participate safely. A series of illuminated markers will need to be located en route, at which points there will be information to collect (so bring something to write with too). Bear in mind the faster you go the more chance you will have of missing the markers, and that it’s not the time taken but the number of points accrued that will determine the winners. There will be a short briefing at 1855 and teams of 2 – 4 will depart at short intervals from 7 o’clock onwards (slowest first). Everyone will need to be back by 8. A social event and prize-giving will follow. Remember you can have a shower at the Leisure Centre should you wish.
UPDATE: Monday 27th January: I had hoped it would dry up a bit - some chance, and unsettled weather forecast. So be prepared for a bit of squishy stuff. Remember a torch and something to write with. And the social at the Town Hall Taps afterwards.
