I'd like to put my name down if possible? Not done a relay before, I do run the Leeds Country Way near Gildersome (by the Valley Pub, A58) but happy to try any leg

These are the names I have for the Leeds Country Way (have I missed anyone). I am looking for 4 teams therefore I need 60 names as we always need reserves. Talking of reserves who are of course absolutely essential and worth their weight in gold (believe me they have got us out of the cart a few times in the past) if volunteering for that role or indeed if you are listed as a reserve please be prepared to be available up to and including the date of the race. Shout up if you are not on the list and want to be.

Dave - I'm really sorry, but I'm going to have to pull out. I'm on crutches at the moment with a fractured metatarsal in my left foot and I just can't see myself being fit enough to run at the end of August.

I hope this doesn't put you in too much of a hole; I'm totally gutted to have to let you down.



Fingers crossed I'll be back to some kind of fitness over short distances in the Autumn.

OK Suzy, thanks for letting me know. Hope the injury meds sooner rather than later. Commiserations it sounds painful.

Al Chapman added to list as a definite and possibly Andrew Baker (awaiting confirmation).

OK this is the first cut of the teams for Leeds Country Way. This will probably change as there are 1 or 2, I need to check on. As always there are bound to be injuries etc but in order to give people an idea of which legs to reccy this is the first proposal.

You will notice I have mixed things up a little this year.

Rather than go for all our strongest runners in the A team I have decided to target the Vets competition, I do however think that these 4 teams all provide a competitive edge and there are also opportunities for pairs to win fastest leg (lets see if Karen and Dave Coleman can repeat last years feat on leg 2).

As always please let me know if there are any problems sooner rather than later, if you are a reserve then please remain available (you are important members of the squad of runners and I would always prefer to have a good number of reserves than try and stretch to a 5th team with absolutely no reserves). Some of you who are reserves have stated that to be your preference but please be prepared to be called upon if needed although I understand that in some cases there are only certain legs you would be available.
