Advance notice - 4 months away - entries are open

www.ldwa.org.uk/challenge_events/show_event.php?event_id=15591

What - 23 miles/ 3000feet
Where - start Guiseley and circular route inc. Baildon Moor, Sandy Gallops, Rombald Moor, Ilkley Moor, Menston, and the Chevin
Why - cheap as chips, great organisation, checkpoints with food and drink, multi-terrain, hot meal and memento at end.
Who - ideal start for anyone wanting to attempt first long trail race

Preparation for this is much like marathon training. I'd be happy to guide anyone (Dec/ Jan) round the route. Likely good social run opportunities, like previous years. Also, once you've done the race, 3 Peaks...

May be  I heard it's a bit challenging...
Went for a training run with Dave B and Steve P last Sunday and we ran some part of the route around Otley Chevin.. Can't really imagine doing that particular incline ( I think you know which one I mean) without somebody pushing or dragging me up there :woohoo:
Still plenty of time to think about.. :)

i remember it all being runnable until otley chevin which was a hands on knees moment. hope the weathers good, did it in thick fog once the whole way round, the next year was heavy snow.
hope you enjoy it.
Reformed runner after brush with mortality at London 2010, aspirations now set much lower, spend most of my time running with Finn in the Valley

You'd be fine Anna - agreed, the 'incline' is a right test, especially after 20 miles and if underfoot conditions are muddy and slippy. Strangely 'enjoyed' this section at the 2015 event...
